Esta mañana tomé de la nevera lo que pensé que era un carrete de Fomapan 200 que, lógicamente, disparé a 200 ASA. Solo cuando cargué la película en el tanque me percate de que, por error, había usado Fomapan 100 y que, por tanto, habría de revelarlo forzado. Como ya tenia mezclado Fomadon R09 a 1+50, decidí revelar con él, a pesar de que no es un revelador muy adecuado para forzar ya que aumenta excesivamente el contraste. El resultado es este de aqui abajo... me comí los grises.</div>

Está expuesto a una media entre la lectura de las luces y las sombras, lo cual, aunque los escaneos aparezcan como oscuros en las sombras, en proyección da un balance perfecto. El clarificador esta vez a funcionado razonablemente bien, solo era cuestión de aumentar la dosis de SulfitoSofico y agitar como si no hubiera un mañana.</div>

Por fin, al quinto intento, conseguí buenos resultados con diapositiva de blanco y negro. La fórmula es esta:<br />

PARA FOMAPAN 100 A 50 ASA (24º c)</div>

<li>1er Revelador: (Dokumol 1+9) 12'</li>
<li>Lavado: 2'</li>

<li>Re-exposición: 4' (2' por cada lado dentro del tanque. Halógeno de 100w a 10cm)</li>

- Al disparar a 50 ASA con un día nublado muchas de las fotografias se han ido a 1/30 de segundo, por lo que han quedado algo movidas. En las últimas salió el sol y se acabó el problema.<br />
- La próxima vez no me saltaré el clarificador. Aunque un lavado muy enérgico elimina casi todo el residuo dejado por el blanqueador, siempre queda algún resto (que he eliminado en las fotos que siguen a base de sudar con Photoshop).<br />
- Noto en muchas de las imágenes poco contraste en las luces, intuyo que por sobrexponer la película disparándola un punto por debajo de su sensibilidad,<br />

Por lo demás... ¡Misión cumplida! </div>

Un último experimento de obtención de
imágenes en color mediante síntesis aditiva. Para entendernos,
mezclar tres imágenes sucesivas en blanco y negro con filtros rojo,
verde y azul, para, al combinarlos, recomponer una imagen a color. Es
el mismo experimento ya realizado <a href="http://pflugerfoto.blogspot.com.es/2013/10/color-por-sintesis-de-imagenes-en.html" target="_blank">aquí</a> y <a href="http://pflugerfoto.blogspot.com.es/2013/10/mas-experimentos-de-sintesis-aditiva-de.html" target="_blank">aquí</a> y con los mismas
limitaciones que entonces: solo es apto para sujetos inmóviles y la
reproducción correcta del color depende de demasiadas variables. Al final, un buen resultado depende más de las correciones del color en Photoshop que de otra cosa. No se si merece la pena.</div>

Aun está por ver que me quede un revelado corto. Si no clavo el tiempo es siempre porque me paso, aunque sea como esta vez solo un poco. Una pena, porque un negativo sobrervelado,además de los problemas que da al escanarlo, siempre queda con un rango tonal muy corto y con bajo contraste en las luces. </div>

Salió un sol primaveral y volví a
recuperar la Polypan de 50 ASA que la luz del inverno (y un creciente
rechazo a recargar chasis), había condenado al olvido. Revelada con
Cafenol conserva su increíblemente amplia gama tonal, pero, aunque
muy ligeramente, el grano se ve afectado. Consecuentemente, intentaré
no volver revelar esta película con café porque ¿para que querría
uno fotografiar con película de 50 ASA que quema las luces altas si
no es por disfrutar su grano finísimo?</div>

Las fotos se hicieron en el Monasterio
de San Isidoro del Campo y en el Teatro Romano de Santiponce. En el
primero no pude más que fotografiar el exterior y los claustros.
Intente algún disparo en el interior del edificio apoyando la cámara
en una columna, pero, con una emulsión de 50 ASA, la obturación se
me iba a dos segundos. No tengo pulso para eso.</div>

El revelado de película blanco y negro
como diapositiva es una disciplina que, fuera del terreno del cine
amateur, no se prodiga en exceso, tanto por su complejidad como lo
minoritario de su destino: la proyección. De hecho, hoy día no
existe más que una emulsión específicamente formulada para su
reversión: la Fomapan R100. Sin embargo, con resultados mejores o
peores, todas las películas en blanco y negro fabricadas para su uso
como negativo pueden ser reveladas como positivo. Al menos eso dicen
y, por ello, yo lo he intentado. No una, sino varias veces.</div>

La primera vez fue ya hace casi un año.
En aquella ocasión el blanqueo no fue completo, lo que produjo un
efecto de solarización en determinadas zonas de la imagen. También
la reexposición fue un completo fracaso, pues resultó insuficiente
(2 minutos) y, al continuar el proceso con la luz encendida, siguió
reexponiendo durante el segundo revelado (de ahí las marcas de
perforaciones).

El segundo y tercer intentos (Kodak Tmax 100) los
realicé revelando con Cafenol y con un blanqueador a base de agua
oxigenada y zumo de limón cuya formula saque de <a href="http://www.filmlabs.org/docs/citric-hydrogen-peroxide-bleach.pdf" target="_blank">aquí</a>.
Hasta el blanqueo la cosa fue bastante bien, pero, aparentemente, el
segundo revelado con Cafenol no fue lo bastante enérgico. En ambos
intentos no obtuve más que una película absolutamente negra.</div>

El cuarto intento fue más prometedor.
Las diapositivas quedaron muy oscuras, con muy poco rango tonal y
tremendamente contrastadas. Revelé con Dokumol y el blanqueador
clásico (Dicromato Potásico 10gr y Ácido sulfúrico al 10% 100ml
para 1 litro). La reexposición la realice con la película dentro
del tanque.</div>

Quinto y sexto intento se pueden
considerar casi un éxito. En esta ocasión sobreexpuse la película
un diafragma (de 200 a 100 ASA) y usé, para la mitad del carrete 10'
y 5' de primer y segundo revelador respectivamente; y para la segunda
12' y 6'. Si fueran diapositivas destinadas a ser proyectadas, las de
la segunda parte estarían perfectas, pero el escaner precisa de
negativos menos densos y con menos contraste.</div>

Casi por lógica, un futuro intento
pide un tiempo de revelado aun mayor (¿15 minutos?) pero, aunque eso me de
una diapositiva menos oscura, no creo que resuelva el problema del
exceso de contraste. Quizás la Fomapan 200, que es una película con
granulación de plata de nueva generación, no sea la mas adecuada
para ser revertida. Una película de formulación clásica, como por
ejemplo Fomapan 100, y un control del ph del primer revelador, tienen
más posibilidades de contener el contraste... o no. Lo veremos en el
siguiente experimento.

De un carrete de 36 exposiciones suelo dejar, después de una purga minuciosa, unas 7 u 8 fotografías para este blog. Es una decisión dificil que, inevitablemente, deja fuera un montón de buenas imágenes. Por supuesto, digo buenas en el sentido más subjetivo del término, es decir, buenas para mi, que me gustan vaya. Hoy sin embargo, el problema ha sido el contrario: no qué fotos elimino, sino que fotos dejo. No es que sea un problema nuevo, a veces me ha sucedido que, a mi criterio, hay poco bueno que mostrar. Pero nunca como hoy. He puesto cuatro fotos por poner algo. Entre fotos desenfocadas, movidas, descuadradas o, simplemente que no dicen nada, la tijera hoy ha funcionado sin descanso. El "reportaje" de mi día de compras no ha tenido el resultado esperado. Hoy me han abandonado las musas. Además esta vez, no se si será por el forzado, la Tmax 100 no ha quedado bien revelada con Fomadon. Por otro lado, la Olympus mju ha demostrado su peor carencia: su poca luminosidad. En fin, fotos para olvidar que dejo como testimonio de que hay días y días.</div>

Un paseito prenavideño por el centro de Sevilla para probar que tal responde la Fomapan 200 al revelado con café. El negativo, a ese tiempo, ha quedado algo sobrerevelado, pero, aunque me ha sacado más grano de lo normal, aun está dentro de lo razonable. Cada día me gusta más esta película. Como se ve hay bastantes imágenes a contraluz. No es ninguna decisión creativa, sino que, simplemente, tire la mayoría de la fotos de vuelta a casa y, a esa hora, el sol lo tenía justo enfrente. Afortunada casualidad.</div>

Llovía y no se me ocurrió nada mejor
que hacer que fotografiar naturaleza muerta. Un fondo de tela negra,
una sola fuente de luz halógena de 500w a dos metros del objeto,
obturador a 1/30 y diafragma 3,5. El resultado tiene demasiado
contraste, pero claro que esto es precisamente lo que cabía esperar.</div>

A ese tiempo y temperatura, el negativo queda algo subrevelado.
Esto, que a la hora de positivar es un grave inconveniente, no lo es
tanto cuando se escanea. De hecho, el escaner agradece negativos no muy
densos. El resultado, aunque algo contrastado, es muy razonable.<br />
